We're gonna do something fun: re-explore the special liveries of the first half of the 2024 F1 season. We've had fun ones, some "meh" ones that disappointed after a good bit of hype. And still others that hit the spot and are iconic in their own ways.

5. Ferrari at Miami

When Ferrari originally teased us with pictures of their drivers in full-blue uniforms, we thought we were getting a full-blue Ferrari. Lightning McQueen to Dinoco style. Sadly, that was not the case and we were left with some blue stripes on the red car. It felt a little disjointed, and the blue could have been placed better if you were just going stripes.

4. Alpine at Belgium

The pictures looked amazing for the Deadpool and Wolverine livery. Ryan Reynolds certainly knows how to use a brand for advertising. Sadly, the striking yellow claw marks were much harder to see on track so we were left with mostly a red Alpine.

3. Williams at Silverstone

The incorporation of the flag at the British GP was surely a nice nod to the home crowd (I would assume so anyway). But it was also a great way of acknowledging the hard work of the Williams team as a whole with every one of their staff member's names making up the Union Jack flag on the car. It was very clean, easy on the eyes, and was just a cool idea.

2. VCARB at Miami

We already liked the typical VCARB livery. This one went the extra mile. The chameleon style was gorgeous in Miami, and something I wish they’d bring back or just plain old switch to. It was bright, and fun, and brought the spirit of the city with it. It had a lot of color but it wasn’t overwhelming and they blended nicely. Daniel Ricciardo had one of his best results of the year in that car, maybe they should bring it back. Might help them score some more points.

1. McLaren at Monaco

The look was just perfection. The nod to Senna with the look combined with the historical significance and the aura of the track gave it a sleek, albeit almost reflective feel. It's a throwback that wasn’t as much making you think about the glory days of F1 as much as it put you in them. That might be a little on the hyperbolic side, but I thought McLaren came out with by far the most iconic special livery so far of the 2024 season and put on a designer masterclass while at it.
